Pred Engenharia achieves OHSAS 18001 certification

Pred participates in the Prodfor Ceremony 2015 and receives certification for the Occupational Health and Safety Management System

Currently, the most part of the companies, regardless of its size, are experiencing a growing demand for productivity, quality and safety, which contribute to its sustainable development. To transform this demand into competitive advantage, we need to develop efficient and customized management systems, according to our business processes, and use them systematically in order to maintain and improve the organization. Thinking about it, Pred Engenharia, which already has extensive experience in Quality Management System (ISO 9001), seeks a differential to invest in a management system that concentrates all actions and programs for the prevention of occupational illness and physical integrity of the employee. The OHSAS 18001 certification became one of the most important reference of the company in relation to its greatest asset - people.

The search for more effective results, by the way, is one of the company's commitments. "The smallest improvement can increase the motivation of the workers. The application of an Occupational Health and Safety Management System provides an effective framework to prevent or minimize accidents and health issues" summarizes the Safety Technician, Carina Turci.

The Pred Engenharia has developed this Management System because, besides being a legal and social obligation, it is also a key element for the success of the company. This system helps to increase worker productivity, reinforces the commitment of these to the company and creates healthier and more skilled labour. In addition, it allows the company matches customer expectations about safety, works to reduce incidents/accidents and encourage workers to stay in the active life for longer too.

Nowadays, the Pred is one of 14 small companies in the state of Espírito Santo that have the Integrated Management System (IMS) for Quality and Health & Safety, through Prodfor. The company will also participate in 2016 of the process to achieve the certification for the Financial, Fiscal and Labor Management System. In this way, Pred will become the third company in the state to obtain this certification and one of two companies to implement the integration of Quality, Health & Safety and Financial & Tax & Labor in the state of Espírito Santo.

The Prodfor. Created in 1997, the Integrated Program for Development and Qualification of Suppliers is a joint action of the main organizations from the state of Espirito Santo to increase the qualification of local suppliers, through a properly organized system.

Attending the program as sponsors, there are the companies ArcelorMittal, Canexus, Chocolates Garoto, Companhia Espírito Santense de Saneamento (Cesan), Fibria, Espírito Santo Centrais Elétricas (EDP Escelsa), Petrobras, Samarco Mineração, Technip e Vale. The Federation of Industries of the State of Espírito Santo (Findes) through Euvaldo Lodi Institute (IEL-ES) exercises the support and technical coordination.(from www.prodfor.com.br)
